"Get Lost" day in San Diego was a fun outing with a purpose; after all, B-P said Scouting is a Game with a Purpose.
The troop took a trip by Amtrak Surfliner train to San Diego to visit Balboa Park and let the patrols wander through the town to help drive their team building process through the stages of Forming, Storming, Norming and Performing. Patrols of 8 youth were free to wander the area as patrol hike and patrols had to decide how to explore all Balboa Park had to offer and to be back to the troop meeting point on time.
Some of the highlights discovered in the park were the Dome iMAX theater where they saw a film on the Hubble space telescope, the extensive grounds of the botanic gardens, and sampled the fine tamales from a street vendor cart.
Even taking the city bus to and from the train station proved to be an adventure with stories to be told.
